Description

This publication presents one of the more daring Bach arrangements that I have made. Although the original piece, a fairly early keyboard work by Bach, is predominantly monophonic, I still had to invent textures for the saxophone that replace the lush and complex hamonic gestures in the original. I had a lot of fun doing it! Moreover, I presented the piece to my early music hero Ton Koopman, and to my surprise he was very enthusiastic about it. He also helped me with some insightful advice on the arrangement.

There will be passages where one will need to add slurs for a fluent performance. I think in this case these choices are so personal that I have decided to keep them up to the performer.
